Dr. João Abrantes is a Radiologist, graduated from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto, and holds the European Diploma in Radiology. He completed with Distinction a Master of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of London and undertook a fellowship in Medical Imaging Informatics at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Currently, he is a Radiologist at the Local Health Unit of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, where he serves as Coordinator of the Breast Unit within the Imaging Department. He also coordinates the Artificial Intelligence Working Group of the Portuguese Society of Senology and the Medical Imaging Informatics Section of the Portuguese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, while being an active member of the Young Club of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII).
